What is PRP Hair Restoration treatment ?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment for balding is a three-step clinical treatment wherein an individual’s blood is drawn, prepared, and afterward infused into the scalp. Some in the clinical network believe that PRP infusions trigger characteristic hair development and keep up it by expanding blood gracefully to the hair follicle and expanding the thickness of the hair shaft. At times this methodology is joined with other balding systems or drugs.
There hasn’t been sufficient examination to demonstrate if PRP is a powerful balding treatment. Notwithstanding, PRP treatment has been being used since the 1980s. It’s been utilized for issues, for example, recuperating harmed ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

PRP treatment measure

PRP treatment is a three-step measure. Most PRP treatment requires three medicines 4 a month and a half separated.
Upkeep medicines are required each 4–6 months.

Your blood is drawn — commonly from your arm — and put into a rotator (a machine that turns quickly to isolate liquids of various densities).

Stage 2

After around 10 minutes in the axis, your blood will have isolated into in three layers:

  • platelet-helpless plasma
  • platelet-rich plasma
  • red platelets

Stage 3

The platelet-rich plasma is drawn up into a needle and afterward infused into zones of the scalp that need expanded hair development. There hasn’t been sufficient examination to demonstrate whether PRP is viable. It’s additionally hazy for whom — and under what conditions — it’s best.

Side effect:

Since PRP treatment includes infusing your own blood into your scalp, you’re not in danger of getting a transmittable sickness.
In any case, any treatment that includes infusions consistently conveys a danger of results, for example,
  • injury to veins or nerves

In case you’re worried about going bald, you have various alternatives including prescription like Rogaine and Propecia, alongside hair relocate medical procedure. Another thought is PRP treatment. Hair loss is a sensitive issue affecting both men and women. The process of undergoing traditional invasive hair transplant surgery can be overwhelming. As an alternative, and one of the safest medical hair re-grow options, the non-invasive platelet-rich plasma (PRP) hair restoration treatment has been very popular recently, which is highly effective for both men and women. At Sunshine Kitchener Waterloo Cosmetic Clinic and Medi Spa, we offer PRP hair restoration/regeneration treatments in the Kitchener Waterloo region, Ontario.

How does PRP hair restoration treatment work?

PRP hair regeneration treatment works by restoring growth factors that are found naturally within your blood. Mesenchymal stem cells and autologous blood products essential for regenerating scalp tissue. This healthier scalp tissue can then feed the hair follicles which allow increased hair growth. The platelets within the PRP target the Dermal Papilla, a component of the hair follicle. The platelets promote healing and stimulate new cell growth within the hair follicle. Platelets also increase the rate and extent of regeneration which accelerates results. PRP has also been shown to be effective in stimulating inactive hair follicles, which can force them into a growth phase.

Am I a good candidate for PRP hair restoration treatment?

PRP targets androgenetic alopecia, the hereditary hair thinning that affects both men and women. Experts believe it may also be effective for women with traction alopecia, hair thinning caused by too tight ponytails, braids, and other styles that pull the hair out. According to clinical researches, the best candidates are people who have only recently begun to lose hair. PRP won’t work for anyone who’s completely bald and it won’t completely regrow all lost hair.

How is PRP hair loss treatment be processed?

A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge that spins at high speed and separates the platelets from the rest of the blood components. The concentrated PRP is then injected into the scalp of areas of concern. This stimulates new hair growth. The entire process takes about 30-60 minutes.

Depending on the different types of PRP Hair Restorations and delivery procedures, it can be painless, with minor discomfort, or with bearable pain. If injected with needles, a numbing cream is required prior to the treatment and it will still hurt a little but is bearable in most cases. If injected with the U225 device, our state-of-the-art mesotherapy gun (or mesogun), you will experience minor discomfort if numbing cream is not applied or nearly zero pain if numbing cream is applied. It is completely painless if injected with PRP Hair Restoration, our non-invasive, needleless procedure. Last, topical application won’t hurt, however, before the PRP Hair Restoration are applied, the microneedling or micro-channeling procedure to create microscopic punctures on the skin might introduce minor discomfort.
It depends on the delivery method to be used. For the needles and microneedling, the downtime can be 1-3 days. In this case, you might experience some pinkness, tenderness, and/or minor swelling or bruise immediately after the treatment, which should be resolved within 3 days. For the U225 mesotherapy gun and micro-channeling, it would be zero downtime to 1 day. If PRP Hair Restoration is used, there is no downtime.
A typical PRP Hair Restoration treatment program requires 3 sessions to show optimal results and is normally performed 3-4 weeks apart. After these 3 initial treatments are completed, maintenance treatments are recommended every 3-6 months.
One PRP Hair Restoration treatment session takes 30-60 min depending on the volume of the booster and delivery procedure.
Results become visible 1-2 weeks after the treatment, which will improve with every treatment session.
After the 3 initial treatments are done, the results typically last for about six to twelve months, depending on the individual’s lifestyle, age, and skin type.
It depends on the types of PRP Hair Restoration and delivery procedure, as well as the number of treatment sessions needed. Contact us about our PRP Hair Restoration package deals!
